Hartley People Recruitment have been retained by the Kilkenny Abbey Quarter Development Ltd. (a partnership between Kilkenny County Council and the National Treasury Management Agency) to source a Chief Executive Officer to oversee the development and management of the former Smithwick’s Brewery site in Kilkenny City. Reporting to the Board of the Kilkenny Abbey Quarter Development Ltd., the CEO will have the following responsibilities: Key Duties and Responsibilities. Provide strong leadership in the implementation of the strategic vision for the KAQDL and act as a key influencer with all key local, regional and national bodies. Delivery and management of capital development projects with an initial focus on the immediate financing, development and commercialisation of the existing buildings. Strong commercial focus required, with a proven ability to deliver commercially viable development projects. Develop and implement the agreed asset development strategy and manage all legal, financial and commercial partners and negotiations for same. To identify and deliver on appropriate business opportunities within the KAQDL. Work closely with key agencies and partners to identify and procure suitable tenants or licensees for occupation of space within the buildings. Oversee and manage all matters relating to planning, design and financing on behalf of the company. Manage all day-to-day operational issues and budgets to ensure that the KAQDL operates efficiently, effectively and transparently. Communicate effectively in the media and public forums on all matters relating to the promotion and development of the area. Person Specification. Qualifications and Experience. 10 years of relevant senior level experience in a related industry or environment such as property/construction management, commercial development, architecture and/or project management, resort management or any other sector / environment that is relevant to the role outlined above. A third level qualification in a relevant discipline would be a distinct advantage. Proven / demonstrable track record in a business leadership role with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels. Knowledge / experience in property planning, project management, legal and finance / budgets. Strong commercial skills and entrepreneurial style with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Politically aware with strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to manage commercially viable development projects. Highly innovative and creative with entrepreneurial style and the ability to identify and maximise potential opportunities.
