Our client a renowned, progressive manufacturing company based in Waterford are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer on a contract basis. The Role: • Schedule and carry out Internal audits, per the internal audit schedule, including verification of build audits, supplier audits, document control audits. Maintain the system for the control of the audit reports, corrective actions and the subsequent monitoring of the effectiveness of the corrective action system. • Support operational requirements in production regarding feedback of scrap and rework data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis; This will include analysing of trends and managing the corrective actions associated. The quality engineer will also take a lead role in improvement projects related to COPQ. Including operator training. • When necessary, support operations with technical knowledge of manufacturing processes. • Liaise with suppliers on the quality issues, including design and manufacture of relevant equipment, tooling and fixtures ensuring quality product can be supplied to the company. • Support, as required, quality based activity on new product development and new product introduction initiatives, Including RFQ requirements. Support capital requests where required. • Support production requirements regarding rework procedures wherever required. • Complete data supply requirements on external systems, such as dashboards and RAIL's. Including information related to the data, like causes of scrap or escapes. The Person: • Quality auditor certification and at least 3 years quality auditing experience in the manufacturing industry. Including an understanding of quality systems. 3rd level Engineering/Technology/Quality qualification is beneficial. • Ability to manage projects and changing priorities; make sound decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a team environment. • Proficient time management skills with the ability to close initiatives & actions on time. • Ability to deal confidently with internal and external customers and suppliers at all levels of the organisation. Including travel to suppliers and customers. • The successful candidate will exhibit a can do, proactive attitude with a demonstrated work-ethic and drive & should also possess excellent problem solving abilities. • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong ability to be proactive and must be results orientated.
