An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Chemical Process Engineer to join a large multi-national med device company in the South East. Working as a key member of the team who are involved in producing the polymer for the plant your role will be to design, develop, implement and support manufacturing systems related to the handling of liquid chemicals. As Chemical Process Engineer your primary focus will involve scaling up a legacy process to mirror the increase in capacity and production that the plant now enjoys due to strong growth over the past 5 years. As such you will be an innovative and analytical chemical engineer with the ability to make suggestions and deliver improvements that will enhance the existing process. My client is very open to candidates coming from different industry backgrounds (food, pharma, oil & gas etc.) and are comfortable training you up in the various aspects of the role as long as you have a strong chemical/chemistry background with the ability/track record of scaling up operations in terms of things such as equipment, validation etc. This is a company that fully support YOU and YOUR long term career goals. In this role you will be reporting into a manager who has been described as very supportive and personable who has high expectations but gives you the scope and freedom to get the job done (is not a micro-manager!) As Chemical Process Engineer some of your key duties will include: Identify, design, develop and implement process and equipment innovations and improvements. Use appropriate engineering techniques to manage projects, gather and analyse data e.g. six sigma methods. Develop a technical understanding of the process and automation systems concerning liquid and chemical processing and share that technical expertise with colleagues by formal and informal methods. Install and validate equipment and automation systems for processing liquids and chemicals.
