We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Analyst (LC-MS) to join our Chemistry team in Dungarvan Co Waterford. This role is to support the expansion of LC-MS as a service offering within the department. We currently perform large and small molecule analysis using a QTOF instrument and will be extending our analytical capabilities with a single quadrupole instrument this year. The purpose of this job is to perform scientific test procedures on client samples and produce accurate results within an acceptable time frame using company procedures and also to be responsible for completion of more technically challenging analysies, including method development, transfer, and validation. This person will also work to develop any ancillary procedures associated with the methods and technical systems used; ensuring customer samples are completed within their required specifications. Constantly aware of customer’s requirements and strive to meet those requirements keeping in mind the cycle is not complete until the customer has obtained their report. Perform non-routine tasks in the laboratory or perform the particular types of analysis assigned to them, back-filling for Analysts as required. Develop and validate new tests and procedures for the company and for clients. Complete specific technological projects and write the results of these projects accurately, confidentially and on time for customers. Sign all technical documents once training in this task is successfully completed. This includes laboratory reports, SOPs, protocols, investigation reports and any other documentation issued. Authorise customer work from Analysts once qualified to do so. Deputise for supervisors / managers, as required. Keep the laboratory area clean and tidy. Provide cover for other members of staff as required. Ensure that all documentation is completed on time, accurately and legibly. Keep their training records up to date and to initiate training where possible. Update any relevant documentation as required. Adhere to, and provide a practical lead on, all company standards in the area of safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying management of any discrepancies. Handle any customer related queries where necessary and liaise with the team to solve these queries if needed. Ensure that customers’ requirements are fully met and in so doing be flexible to work in any area of the business as is required. Identify any opportunities for improvement of quality and service and work with the team to implement continuous improvement. Experience & Qualifications. At least 3 year’s experience in a GMP laboratory is desirable but consideration will be given to post graduate applicants that have previous experience with LC-MS. BSc in Chemistry or life science. Experience in using Agilent MassHunter software and Agilent QTOF and single quadrupole instruments. Good team player, organised, accurate, have strong documentation skills.
