Our client is a long-established food manufacturer, supplying branded and private label products to major retailers in Ireland and the UK. They are now looking for a Quality Assurance Technologist to join their team. As a Quality Assurance Technologist, you will be responsible for providing a high level of technical and QA support. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will perform analysis, quality checks, prepare and test samples, as well as accurately record and analyse results. You will carry out administration activities to support with customer and technical support tasks and approved supplier management. Maintaining quality documentation, you will write and update standard operating procedures, technical documents and any paperwork associated with the quality management system. You will also undertake document control management. Pack copy generation and artwork approval is also a part of this role. You will also be involved in new product development and will be required to write the technical reports needed to support this work. Additionally, you’ll conduct internal audits and liaise with colleagues to ensure that best practice is adhered to. To be considered, you must have: - At a minimum, one year's quality experience, gained in a similar laboratory or food technology-based role. - A high level of IT literacy, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - A third level qualification (or equivalent) in food science or a related discipline. Self-motivated, proactive and reliable, as a Quality Assurance Technologist, you must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. An analytical approach, an excellent eye for detail and strong problem solving abilities are also key. A working knowledge of the BRC standard and retailer specification systems such as Muse/zoom, or Tesco’s TTL/TQC would be beneficial to your application.
