Continuous Improvement (Lean) Lead - Co. Waterford. Purpose: You will assist in the development and execution of an implementation strategy for Lean Manufacturing Techniques and Principles to support company's goal of becoming a world class manufacturing campus. Core Responsibilities: • To take part in and give guidance to cross-functional teams rolling out the Lean Manufacturing initiatives. • Strive to develop best practice methods, workplace layout and workplace organisation to gain throughput increases, inventory reductions, and operating expense reductions. • Assist in training employees in Lean Tools, Systems and Principles in order to develop an organisation-wide culture of change. • Deliver and teach A3 Problem Solving Training. • The ability to lead a project from conception to closure. • Estimate & secure the cost benefit of specific projects. • The auditing of processes to ensure that gains are sustained. • Assist in the development of corrective action when requested. • To act as a Lean Manufacturing SME to support other departments. • To actively promote the necessity of C.I. as a key strategy to achieve competitive advantage and long term sustainability. Minimum Qualifications & Experience sought: • At least 5 years' pharmaceutical or related industry experience. • MSc in Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent. • Ability to communicate and work with people inside and outside the department as necessary to execute these responsibilities. • Ability to train and lead assigned employees. • Ability to understand and follow appropriate departmental policies, procedures, practices and to understand the inter-relationships of people and functions. • To continually enhance your knowledge by staying in touch with the latest developments in Lean Manufacturing Theory and Practices. • Ability to manage a project successfully. • Knowledge of engineering theories, methods and work measurement techniques. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to present information in a concise and clear manner. • Ideally Certified to use A3 Problem Solving Methodology. • Ideally certified in Training Within Industry. • Ability to work as part of team and have excellent attention to detail. • The resolve to escalate issues when necessary to Senior Leadership’s attention. • Ability to communicate the benefits of Lean Manufacturing.
