(ref. no.020919. duties of the post will include: •managing the effective and efficient running of the courses assigned to the department. •motivating and develop the academic and support staff of the department. •recruiting staff for the department. •developing innovative programmes to assist student recruitment in conjunction with the nursing and midwifery board of ireland and other professional bodies, •overseeing the progression, placement and welfare of students. •lecturing up to 105 hours annually. •planning and implementing programmes of research and development. •planning, implementing and evaluating new programmes of study relevant to present and evolving needs of the health services and related industries, students, government and the institute. •developing and strengthening links with the nursing profession and other health care professions, regionally, nationally and internationally. •developing and strengthening links with relevant educational institutions regionally, nationally and internationally. •contributing to the achievement of the institute’s objective to support the economic and social development of its region and the state. •preparing and implementing the department’s budgets. •ensuring that all of the department’s activities are carried out in accordance with the current health and safety standards. •carrying out such duties within the institute as may, from time to time, be assigned by the head of school of health sciences, or the president. •as the institute and the school evolve, it is expected that duties will vary. •additional duties of a school-wide nature will be assigned. •under section 12 (2)(a) and 12 (2) (b) of the regional technical colleges act, 1992, the duties of this post may be rearranged or redistributed in accordance with institute needs. please note that this advertisement is being hosted by the public appointments service on publicjobs.ie. the public appointments service has no involvement in, or responsibility for, the recruitment and selection process or the terms and conditions which relate to this post.
