This is a multi-disciplined organisation and job role, so all experienced applicants from associated disciplines are welcome.EPS require a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to workas a plant operator on a number of sites in the West Waterford/East Cork area. The role requires a good understanding of the Wastewater Treatment process.A company vehicle will be provided in this role. The Wastewater Treatment Operator: A mechanical and electrical background is preferred and some process experience would be beneficial. Routine operational duties and regular maintenance tasks are a basic function of this role. Process monitoring, occasional basic laboratory analysis, completing record sheets and taking process samples. Training will be given where required. Heavy manual work may be required from time to time. The role requires work outside in all weather conditions. Role ranges from process control and monitoring to basic mechanical maintenance and repair. General housekeeping activities such as cleaning and washing plant and areas down and grounds maintenance also required. Treatment process is fully automated and has a comprehensive control system. Proficiency in basic computers important for remote access. Working alone at times. Awareness of need to follow formal procedures and safe working methods essential. This role requires participation in a regular call out rota. Ability to apply personal skills such as honesty, trust, enthusiasm, consideration and sense of humour to positively contribute to the development of team spirit. Exercise responsibility for Workplace Health and Safety, Environment Protection, Anti-discrimination, Record Keeping and Privacy obligations. Ability to present oneself in a professional manner at all times as you are representing EPS Group. Skills / Attributes; Good use of reading English and excellent inter-personal skills and communication skills. Computer literacy and ability to use SCADA, spreadsheets and other basic computer programmes necessary. Training will be given. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively off own initiative and in a team environment. Have a willingness to learn and be challenged in the water and waste water Industry. Requirements; Experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants – although similar process experience will be considered. Experience in laboratory analysis is desirable.
