The Southern Regional Assembly plays an important role in promoting and supporting balanced regional development and is tasked with a general competence to co-ordinate, promote and support strategic planning and sustainable development, with significant responsibility for spatial planning and economic development. The Assembly is tasked with regional implementation of the National Planning Framework and National Development Plan, through preparing an overall Regional Spatial & Economic Strategy (RSES) for their region. The Southern Regional Assembly covers all counties of Munster and the three South-East counties of Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford.   Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director will ensure the smooth operation of the business of the Regional Assembly. S/he will support and advise in matters related to statutory functions, managing and overseeing the administration and representing the Assembly as required.   The successful candidate will have: A career record that demonstrates the necessary senior level leadership and management skills to manage, develop and motivate a large multidisciplinary team; Experience of managing change in a complex and dynamic environment; Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.      .
