  clannad care ltd are a forward thinking and innovative home care company looking for a new care manager to join us and be part of our success story. ​if you are an existing team leader/manager within a home care setting and are ready for your next challenge, then we would love to hear from you. our head office is in waterford city and the role would be field and office based – reporting into the director of operations. this role will cover waterford and it surrounding regions therefore use of your own vehicle would be necessary. about the role. to support the development of a well-established and expanding area. work closely with the scheduling operations manager to ensure best practice and deliver of quality care. continuous review and development of company policies and procedures, and the roll out of any change to achieve ‘best in class’ service. to carry out assessments, reviews, appraisals and spot checks in line with all current legislation and company policies, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and on a timely basis. to support and work with the scheduling team to ensure that company codes of practice are followed and company policies and procedures are adhered to for our clients and care workers. to support the operations director deliver the strategic operational plan and growth targets for the business. to participate in the on-call rota as part of the team (minimal however payment for this is additional to basic salary. accountabilities. deliver high quality personal care and support to clients. ensure strong governance and compliance. ensure clannad care are delivering companionship, support services and personal care according to the client personal support plan and in accordance with current best practices.  to supervise, mentor and support senior care worker/s and new care workers by providing leadership and direction to the team playing a pivotal role in promoting high quality best practice and person centred service delivery. assist with the training and assessing of new staff in the field along with a team of internal assessors. provide practical training and work shadowing for new staff. introduce new care workers to clients, supervise the activities of carers ensuring that reviews and quality checks are completed on a timely basis and to the required standard. to take responsibility for the reception and initial investigation of complaints and recording their progress. agree action plan and advise of process improvements and recording and communication of changes that need to be applied. take the lead responsibility for allocated client documentation ensuring care plans and client files are kept accurate and up to date. conduct client reviews and case conferences as required, obtaining input from other relevant parties such as family members and other health professionals as necessary. complete and update care needs and risk assessments for new and existing clients to a high standard and ensure carers are sufficiently trained to follow these. attend meetings with external agencies involved with the client e.g. care managers/age concern/community psychiatric nurse/clients’ families to review and recommend and communicate changes to the care packages as required. lead the implementation of clannad care policies and procedures and maintenance of standards required by relevant legislation.   suitable applicants must have:  a recognised nursing qualification or similar is essential. previous experience in homecare or community-based setting. experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures. significant operational experience of managing and/or delivering of the homecare/community based services. strong governance knowledge and work experience. proven commercial acumen. excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills (including negotiating and influencing skills. strong it skills. to apply email your cv to bridget, recruitment@clannadcare.ie.
