SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: To effectively manage and deliver front line services in accordance with the strategies, policies and plans. To develop, evaluate and monitor all aspects of the management of the centre including income and expenditure, health & safety, staffing, marketing & promotions. The Role: To work with the Leisure centre team in setting, managing and achieving the agreed budgets, to maintain and where possible reduce overheads within the department at an acceptable cost and other financial management. To provide leadership across all aspects of the centre. To monitor and evaluate all aspects of the operation including I.T., Administration, Human Resources, Business Development and Financial Management. To attend Departmental Meetings as required, ensuring effective communication at all levels. Hiring and training team members and ensuring their development. To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Licensing and Employment. To assist in the control of all costs, minimizing wastage of materials and energy throughout the enterprise. To ensure that opening, closing and daily procedures are carried out and documented accordingly. To maintain all company policies and procedures. Promoting and Marketing the centre. To carry out routine facility checks and complete relevant documentation. To ensure that all plant, equipment and machinery is operated in line with trained instruction and is maintained in a clean working condition. To attend training sessions as required. To attend appraisal / assess as required. Provide first-aid cover, and ensuring that the appropriate documentation is completed. To carry out any other duties as request by the board of directors. The Person: 3+ years’ in a similar role. Third Level Education in a related field – Desirable. Strong Health and Safety knowledge. Ability to lead a team. Lead by example with demonstrated capability of developing people. Have the ability to interface and build relationships with employee’s management and board of directors at various levels within the organisation. Excellent communication skills with demonstrated success both verbal and written. An analytical and forward thinker. Be able to recognise a problem before it’s too late. Maintains a high level of professionalism, integrity and trust. Able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Must have a ‘can do’ attitude with a willingness to undertake any task required. Capability to focus on delivering priorities and succeeding in a fast-paced environment with high expectations.
