An Irish owned company have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Manager in New York, USA. The successful candidate will be seconded to New York for at least two years following a training period in Ireland where they will join a newly established team and will help deliver a top-class service to suppliers and farmer customers.   Following the secondment, it is then envisaged that the person will return to Ireland to take up a more senior role within the company. We are open to the possibility that the successful candidate may wish to remain in the US for a longer period. The role: Work on a day to day basis as part of the logistics/administration/accounts team; Take ownership of the administration/logistics function, ensuring that activities are carried out in an efficient and customer focused manner; Ensuring that a comprehensive and robust system of policies, procedures and ways of working are implemented and working properly; Ensure absolute adherence to our quality procedures, local and federal laws and regulations; Implement a comprehensive system of reporting to create confidence that business operations are being carried out as expected; Gain an appreciation of the wider operations of the business and the commercial and hands on aspects of dealing with moist feed suppliers, farmers, logistics, quality control, marketing, general management etc; The ideal candidate: A degree in business, logistics, quality control, agriculture or other relevant discipline; At least 2 years’ experience working within a busy commercial environment; A dedicated and professional approach with good team building and communication skills; A strong appreciation of the importance of compliance to standards, service level agreements, laws and regulations and a steadfast and determined attitude to meeting appropriate standards; A strong and determined work ethic-be comfortable taking responsibility and delivering.
