Hartley People are recruiting an Electrician for a High Speed Manufacturing company based in Waterford City.  There is an excellent salary on offer for the role as well as a very good benefits package.  Experience working on high speed production lines is essential. Purpose of the position: The function of an electrician is to maintain all plant equipment in safe working order and work  to a planned maintenance schedule while ensuring full support is provided to production 24/7.  Electrician will be required to work within a team environment, liaising with Production and Engineering personnel. The Individual must also have the skills and ability to work alone.  This role has a high level of hands on interaction with automation and control systems. The Electrician must prioritise his workload in conjunction with Electrical Supervisor and Shift Manager, while ensuring that the requirements of the shift’s and projects been undertaken within the plant are met.  Ensuring that all work carried out is in compliance with plant Health and Safety rules.    NATURE AND SCOPE. Main duties are: – Strict compliance with all environmental, Health, Safety and Hygiene requirements. Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance on all operational equipment. Ensure a quick reaction time to minimise downtime. Proactively work with the Shift manager and operational personnel to identify and reduce the frequency of press stop. Focus on fault finding and ensuring a long term solution to problems. Investigate areas of repetitive downtime and actively problem solve to prevent re-occurrence using Viscan and other database systems, for data analysis. Ensure that the manufacturing function receives the required level of support 24/7. Ensure at all times a safe working environment is maintained. Achieve KPI’s and other related targets. Work in partnership with all other functions to achieve overall plant and business objectives. Participate in the plant Emergency Response team. Maintain, repair and investigate machine breakdowns, to ensure minimum levels of downtime within the plant. Specific focus should be given to auxiliary equipment faults. Carry out all duties in accordance with the company’s health and safety policies. Proactively problem solve to ensure that operational issues are solved permanently. Ensure corrective action is taken, as required, for all equipment and operational problems to drive continuous improvement in the Plant. Operate effectively with other Engineering personnel to ensure the overall performance of the plant. Ensure that the work area in left clean and safe when a task or intervention is completed.     PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES. Ensure maintenance checks comply with department KPI’s. Participate in behaviour based safety. Quality equipment sign off. Verbal and written shift handover. Requirements: Essential: Qualified Electrician or internationally recognised equivalent. Proven (5+ years) experience in high volume manufacturing facility. Experienced in using Lean Enterprise tools for problem solving electrical faults. Working knowledge of automation and control systems. Rockwell Software / Allen Bradley Hardware. Have the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong problem solving and fault finding skills. Good interpersonal skills and a self-starter. Servo Motor Controls. AC/DC drives. Must be highly computer literate. Autocad/Eplan.
