We are currently looking for an experienced Transport Planner who will join our Client’s team in Waterford City.  Your role as a Transport Planner: Liaising with night staff to determine drivers routes each morning. Arranging paperwork for drivers before they leave. Must have paperwork to match to each delivery. Dealing with customers’ orders every day. Collection requests will arrive via e-mail and our Transport Management System (TMS). These must be created on the TMS and assigned to drivers. Dealing with customer enquiries. Expect various enquiries through the day regarding the status on customer deliveries. Dealing with drivers. You will need to handle drivers’ issues / requests, holiday requests, SOP training etc. The general tasks associated with managing a team of drivers. Daily use of our “Move It” and “Connect” computer systems. Must develop an in depth understanding of both. All of the planning, paperwork, routing, customer requests etc. come through these two systems. Adequate training will be provided. What you will need: Ideally 2-3 years experince in a similar role. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Proficient in Microsoft Office package. Loading/forklift experience and advantage. Must have a good phone manner. There is a lot of phone interaction with customers and drivers. It’s important to represent the company well and present a friendly demeanour to customers.   Interested?
